Case study: Yamaha – Live Event

The brief

Story Machine was tasked with producing, directing and running a full live show of YAMAHA’s 2024 model release at their yearly conference in Vail, Colorado.  We also simultaneously filmed the entire show for immediate release to their entire dealer and VIP network.  Story Machine captured a behind-the-scenes film, as well as a photography package and additional social media material to showcase the event to the internal YAMAHA team.

How we approached the project

Full-Spectrum Production

We managed the entire event lifecycle, from creative development and technical planning to execution and post-production. Our responsibilities included directing the live show, orchestrating a multi-camera broadcast to over 2k viewers, and producing a highlight reel within 24 hours.

Multi-Camera Live Broadcast

The live presentation featured a dynamic multi-camera setup, capturing every moment from multiple angles. Simultaneously, we played 83 pre-produced videos in sync with the live program, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for both in-person attendees and remote viewers.

Behind-the-Scenes Content

In addition to the main event coverage, we captured behind-the-scenes footage, still photography, highlight reel and social media assets. These elements provided Yamaha with a comprehensive content package to extend the event’s reach and impact.
